So many of the best times I shared with David were in the '80s & '90s. From barbeques and hot tub parties, home cooked dinners, being treated like a princess on Laddie's birthdays, and sometimes just hanging out shooting the breeze.
We shared many milestones in life and I will always remember the support he provided when I needed it, his hugs, and of course the laughter.
I was lucky to reconnect with David the last few years and I will never forget our last couple hour long calls.
Grateful for our friendship, will miss, but never forget you - so very thankful for all the memories.
My deepest sympathy to Christian, Rene & Blaize, Carol & Sienna, and all of David's family, friends and colleagues.

My deepest condolences to the family. I know a deep hole is in your hearts missing Dave. He was a great person through and through and always positive. I knew when I saw him coming through my door (The UPS Store), it was time for a good story and a new recipe he had tried. He was always positive no matter what was happening to him health-wise. My deepest regret is not having a last conversation with him as I kept meaning to call and see how things were going. We will miss you Dave!

It’s not easy when you have an abundance of memories from which to choose a deserving example of David’s steadiness of character that nourished our lifelong friendship.
We met in high school. In spite of being almost total opposites we became friends. At first over repairing our respective first cars and as willing participants helping David’s mother cook for the church. After all, David had ALL tools by way of his mechanic dad, and a mom . . . who made perogies !
As we each climbed different ladders in life we always stayed connected, sharing our successes, joys, some fantastic experiences, and the mundane of daily life. Together we also navigated our share of missteps along the way. David was always there for me in all ways, as I believe and hope I was for him. Reliable to a fault, he was a natural coach light in judgement: patient, optimistic, forgiving and accepting. All to the benefit of his many friends, family, customers and co-workers.
One of many last conversations we had was that one can’t have too many tools, and, making and devouring perogies. I told him I loved him and was giving him 5 stars for excellent service as my lifelong best friend. I’m missing him.

In 2018, after marrying your son, you met me at lafarge lake, we sat on the steps near the amphitheater...me bawling my eyes out. My dad had just passed away and I was in the darkest place of my life. You let me cry, you listened to me and you told me "if you ever need dad advice, I'm here to be your dad". You told me we were family and gave me the most giant hug. I felt relieved knowing that I could turn to you
You always stayed true to that. You gave me advice, always listened to me and advised me how my own dad would have. You complimented my cooking at family gatherings and helping me cook like dad would (and you loved eating it). You always made me feel like I was a part of the Kozak family, right until the end.
This is a huge loss. You were incredible, kind, generous, giving and you raised Christian to be a wonderful man. I wish I could have been home to say goodbye in person but I treasure that last phone call we had together.....where this time, we both cried.
Say hi to dad for me in the way we discussed (over a kraken and dr pepper)
Rest easy papa D. I know we will see you again one day. All our love to the Kozak family during this tough time.
