Imelda Marie (Millie) Richardson

1933 - 2025

It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Imelda Richardson Feb 15th at the age of 92 in Maple Ridge BC.

Mom was born in Charnisay New Brunswick on Jan 2nd 1933 to her late parents Frederick Richardson and Clothilde Comeau. She grew up on her parent’s farm where she learned to bake bread at the age of 9, mastering domestic and farming skills and caring for her younger siblings. Her free spirit took her westward early on, making her home in BC where she settled, working several jobs to raise 4 children.

Mom was a true social butterfly; she loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Blossoming into a fine musician, playing her guitar, singing around a campfire or an evening kitchen jam was her favorite past time. She also loved playing darts, gardening, cooking, crafting (painting, knitting, crochet and quilting).

Mom is survived by her sons Bruce, Rob (Lori) and Michael, daughters Norma-Jean and Kris (Michael), sisters Aurea (Paul), Alphonsina and brother Lucien (Jeanne-D’Arc) as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

She is predeceased by her son Glen, daughter Jo-Anne, brothers and sisters: Alexandre, Stanislaus, Arcade, Aldemard, Gerald, Freddy, Alderic, Irene, Suzanne, Catherine, Lea and Jean Claude.

 The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Ridge Meadows Hospital for their exceptional care and to Garden Hill Funeral Chapel.
