Ken set sail on his final journey on February 25, 2025, after a short illness. He was a loving father, a caring partner, an avid golfer, and a man who never turned down a quick cup of coffee or a beer and a chat.

Survived by his partner Karen, his kids Aaron (Nicki) and Rebecca (Ben), and his siblings Lorraine (Doug), Bruce (Mary), Bernice (Frank), and Marlene and many many nieces and nephews. He was also a proud grandpa to Nixon, Kate, and Lucy. His friendships meant the world to him, especially his 72-year bonds with Ken and Jack — they could reminisce about all their adventures right until the end.

His career took him from working on tugboats to the Langley Ferry and, finally, over 35 years at the Vancouver Seabus. If it floated, he probably worked on it.

He had plenty of stories—growing up on a farm in PoCo, visiting Speakers’ Corner in London in the ’70s, and cheering from the sidelines at countless games for his son and grandson. He loved and cared for those around him in his own quiet way and was always the guy to call if you needed help power-washing a deck, fixing something (or at least attempting to), or just sharing a moment over a cup of coffee.

He will be greatly missed by so many.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 10th from 12-4pm at Maple Ridge Golf Course. Anyone who knew him is welcome to attend.
