Dear Family and Friends of Rena,
Mr. and Mrs. Bain lived a few doors down from my Mother and me in Burlington, ON for many years. The Bains were very pleasant and kind people who always had friendly smiles and greetings, and were the epitome of good neighbours. Over the years, many of the neighbours moved away, but I would often be greeted by Mrs. and Mr. Bain in their friendly ways during visits to my Mother.
About seven or 8 years ago, I received a Christmas card sent from Maple Ridge, BC. It was from Rena! This greeting was a complete surprise, as I'd not seen Mr. & Mrs. Bain in a few years. Although I was delighted to hear from Rena, it was very saddening when I read about Mr. Bain. It gives me comfort to know that Rena was near family and friends after that tragic loss.
Each Christmas that followed would include a Christmas card sent from Rena that I would receive in early December. I beamed with happiness when each card from Rena arrived. That would immediately prompt me to send out my Christmas cards, with Rena being the first recipient.
