Obituary of Cameron John Tiedeman
Please share a memory of Cameron to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cameron John Tiedeman (Bud), who left us on August 14, 2025, in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia.
Born and raised in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Bud was the second of ten children in a prairie family. From a young age, he showed an independent spirit, leaving home early to work for Commonwealth Oil. He went on to complete his electrical apprenticeship and later built a successful career as the owner of his own electrical business.
After settling in Pitt Meadows, where he made his home for the past 50 years, Bud became a passionate and dedicated member of the community. He proudly served as both alderman and mayor, shaping the city he loved with integrity and vision. Bud was also a devoted member of the Pitt Meadows United Church, where he actively served for over 45 years.
Beyond public service, Bud worked as Senior Advisor for Green Life Company at Meadow Gardens Golf Club, for 35 years—an organization and place that became a cornerstone of his life.
Bud will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Ellen, their daughter Lindsay (Wesley), their sons Wade (Anke) and Bryson, their cherished grandchildren: Daniel (Samantha), Kyla, Talia, Grace, and Ayla and great-granddaughter, Camryn. Bud's memory will live on in the hearts of his surviving siblings—Jack, Valerie, Anne, and Dallas—and in the lives of his extended family and friends.
A tough and independent man, Bud was known for his no-nonsense personality, strong mind, and prairie work ethic—up at the crack of dawn and always ready to lend a hand. He had a teasing sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. Behind his steadfast nature was a compassionate and caring heart, a love of animals, a passion for golf and a deep, unshakable bond with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
Bud's life was defined by his dedication to family, community, and hard work. He will be remembered with love, laughter, and gratitude by all who were fortunate to know him.
A celebration of life will be held at the Pitt Meadows United Church TBA to honour and remember Bud's remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pitt Meadows United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
