Walter Roderick Cormier Obituary

Walter R. Cormier, born December 3, 1929, in Vancouver, BC, passed away September18 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that touched countless lives.

Known for his warm heart and playful spirit, Walter was beloved by many as “Santa Claus,” a role he embraced with joy and sincerity, bringing smiles to children and adults alike. His devotion to community was unwavering. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Walter dedicated years of service to his church and compassionately drove cancer patients to their medical appointments, offering comfort and companionship during difficult times.

Walter’s love extended deeply to his family. He is survived by his cherished niece, Caprice; nephews, Umar and Jesse; and their children: Atynin, Mowayva, Lachina and Kholbie. His presence in their lives was a source of strength, kindness, and gentle wisdom.

A loving soul, Walter lived with grace and gave with generosity. His legacy is not only in the deeds he performed but in the hearts he warmed. As he often said, Rakastan sinua, meaning “I love you”, a phrase that now echoes in the memories of those who knew him.
