It is with joy and sorrow mingled that the family of Fonda Burris Charters of

Langley, BC announces her passage on to Glory on the mid-afternoon of 7 November 2025 at Langley Memorial Hospital.

She was 66 years old.  Born in Bowie, TX, on 18 August 1959 she was called Home by her Redeemer after an extremely courageous six-year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was preceded in death by her father, James "Jim" Burris and her mother, Shirley Burris and a younger brother, Clifton Burris, all of Bryan's Mill, TX.  She is survived by her loving surviving family, husband Dr. Fenwick M. M. Charters of Langley, BC, daughter Shelly Ann Rosen of Katy, TX, brother and sister-in-law Shayne and Carrie Burris of Big Spring, TX, grand-son Aaron Rosen of Peoria, IL, grand-son Sterling Rosen of Benson, MN and grand-daughter Audrey Rosen of Colorado Springs, CO, nephews Kyle Burris of League City, TX and Joshua Smith of Greencastle, IN, step-son Timothy Charters and step-daughter Anita Charters, both of North Vancouver, BC along with step-grand-sons, Luke and Nicholas Charters of North Vancouver, BC, step-son Andrew Charters and step-daughter Diana Charters, both of North Saanich, BC along with dear little step-grand-daughters Emily and Julia Charters of North Saanich, BC along with very special friends, Katherine Charters of North Vancouver, BC and A.K. MacLellan of Richmond, BC.

Fonda was a highly skilled emergency room nurse (trained in Texas at Texarkana Community College and East Texas State University) where she also worked as a Home Health Care Nurse, Hospital Staff Nurse, and Private Clinic Nurse but her main professional time was best displayed practising Emergency Room nursing for 20 years for Fraser Health in the Eagle Ridge Hospital Emergency Room in Port Moody, BC.  She was an extremely hard worker and had many colleagues and friends in the nursing and medical professions.

She was extremely well-trained with an uncommon work ethic and additionally was a very intelligent, humorous, well-traveled and well-read person who made friends of all who were fortunate enough to meet and know her.  She lived a godly life and was a very dedicated, born again Christian.  Generous to a fault with her nursing skills she was very happy to teach new graduates much of what she knew and learned over the years.

Fonda loved her Lord and Redeemer with an uncommon zeal and she especially spent a considerable time studying Scripture and literature connected therewith.

A lover of animals, she particularly loved our humorous Brazilian Mastiff, Orwell, she and this loving dog being best friends.

Fonda enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, gardening, reading, embroidery, among others, and was an especially skilled chef when it came particularly to Tex-Mex cuisine and Texas B-B-Q, which dishes thereof will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangements will be by Garden Hill Funeral Services, Maple Ridge, BC, followed by Celebration of Fonda's Life at the Langley Christian Assembly, 4775 221st Street, Langley, at 12 Noon on Wednesday, 19 November 2025 and subsequent Christian burial at Murrayville Cemetery, Murrayville, Langley, BC.
