Obituary of Cornelis Bolt

Cornelis (Cor) Bolt, age 91, of Maple Ridge, BC, passed away on December 3, 2025.

Funeral service will be held at the Maple Ridge Christian Reformed Church on Friday, December 12 at 1 pm.

Cor was born in Ten Boer, Groningen, the Netherlands to Izebrand & Jitske Bolt on June 16, 1934. He was the youngest of 10 children. When he was 17, he immigrated to Thunder Bay, Ontario with his parents and several older siblings. In 1967 he moved to Maple Ridge, BC where he met his wife, Fenny, and were married on December 21, 1968.  He loved farming and had a small hobby farm. In 2001 he retired, sold the farm and started travelling.

Cor was devoted in his faith and love for the Lord. He will be lovingly remembered as a caring husband, father and Opa.

Cor is survived by his wife, Fenny, his daughters Hetty (Colin) Knight and Corinne (Jeff) Muller. Grandchildren, Toby and Ptolemy Knight; Breanne, Matthew and Anthony Muller. His sister Susan VanderWees, Thunder Bay, Ontario, sister-in-law’s Trina Bolt, Michigan, USA and Janet Bolt, the Netherlands. Numerous nieces and nephews in BC, Ontario, USA, Costa Rica, and the Netherlands.

Predeceased by his parents, Izebrand & Jitske Bolt, siblings Ann & John Toering, Robert & Elsie Bolt, Edward Bolt, Harold & Ann Bolt, Eunice & John Voetberg, Len VanderWees (nephews Brian, William, Shawn) Peter Bolt, Sam & Jansje Bolt (nephew Edwerd) Tina & Bill Doppenberg.
