Obituary of John Morgan

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of W. John Morgan on December 10, 2025.

John suffered for many years with Parkinson’s disease which robbed him of his speech and mobility, and while his death was sudden and unexpected, he passed peacefully with his beloved wife Annette – his partner for 55 years - and daughter Nicola by his side.

John was born in Bristol, England, on January 18, 1941 and emigrated with Annette and children Nicola and Paul, to BC in 1975.  While John began his life in Canada working in his trade, he later spent over 30 years as a bus driver – a job that he loved - both in Vancouver and out of the Port Coquitlam transit centre.  In retirement he loved cruising to many wonderful places, and travelling back to the UK often to see family and friends there.  But above all he cherished his family, and loved nothing more than being together for family BBQs and special occasions.  When his grandsons were in hockey, he never missed a game.  And, he was an avid Canucks and Vancouver Whitecaps fan.

Leaving to mourn are his wife Annette, daughter Nicola (Ben) and son Paul (Cheryl) as well as grandsons Michael and Andrew, son Philip and family in the UK, his sister Valerie in the U.K. and sister Lily in Mission, BC.

John resided for the past 2 years at AgeCare Holyrood in Maple Ridge, and we wish to thank them for the care and compassion, especially the night staff Janine and Abi and the care aides who mourned with us at the end and truly cared about him.  His favourite there was always Bindu.

John did not want a funeral, but we will hold a Celebration of his Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Parkinson’s Society of BC.
