(July 4, 1935 – March 25, 2026)

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Rita Marie Punchak, a beloved mother, Nana, Great-Nana, and friend. She is survived by her children Len (Viola), Keith (Jenny), and Leanne (Joe) Huliganga, along with her nine grandchildren and six great‑grandchildren.

Rita was gentle and caring to all who knew her. She had a sincere love of people, and her warm smile was freely given, lighting the hearts of those around her. Her joyful spirit and quiet kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She dedicated many years to helping others through her work with the New View Society in Port Coquitlam, where she built meaningful friendships that she cherished deeply.

Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband Mike (2014), whom she loved devotedly and with whom she is now reunited.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Maple Ridge, on Thursday April 9 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.  A celebration ceremony will be held in July with location and date to be determined.
