Albert Nazarene Francis Vincent Dominic Formosa “Buddy” passed away peacefully on April 10th, constantly surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 20th, 1932, in the beautiful city of Valletta, Malta. He came from a large family with seven siblings, and he is survived by his youngest brother, Ron. Albert immigrated to Canada on January 15th, 1953, and settled in Powell River with his sister, Mary. It was in Powell River that he met the love of his life, Jane. Their paths crossed at the Moose Hall in 1953, and they were married on September 6th, 1958. Albert and Jane were soulmates, embodying the purest form of love married for 65 years. They raised 4 boys together and welcomed 11 grand children together. Albert was lucky to also have 5 Great Grandchildren and 2 more on the way. His family meant everything to him and kept him going after losing Jane in 2024. A big thank you to Cecil and Lindsay who helped to care and love Albert after such a loss.

Albert loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. He also loved to garden and work outdoors. He made homemade Pastizzis and Raviollis, and loved to play games. His home was always open, welcoming family and friends anytime of day. He was everyone’s BUDDY.  Albert made a special trip back to Malta in 2023 when he was 91 years old. He was a very proud Maltese man and spoke of ‘home’ often.

Albert is survived by his 4 boys Fred (Terri), Jim (Diane), Larry (Shirley), Brian (Brenda) and 11 Grandchildren Mike (Daisy), Tyler (Alyssa), Derrick (Sam), Carly (Josh), Brianne (Scott), Brandon (Kaela), Kurtis (Kody), Scott (Daniella) Courtney (Alex), Candace (Matt), Alyssa (Stuart) and 5 Great Grandchildren Lennon, Max, Eloise, Levi and Rose.

To know Albert was to love him. He lived a full life and left behind a legacy of love and kindness, and is now reunited with his love in heaven. 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 24th at 12:30 p.m. at Meadow Gardens Golf Club (Ebony Room) located at 19675 Meadow Gardens Way in Pitt Meadows.
