It is with great sadness, Marva and family announce the passing of Milan Matt Uzelac at the age of 77 on May 22, 2026, at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

He leaves behind his wife Marva, daughter, step-daughter Marci, grandchildren Kendra and Kaden, Jaxxon, Gwendylan, Jevanni, and Giyah, brother, niece, nephew, as well as his many friends, colleagues and relatives.

Milan grew up in East Vancouver and attended Hastings Elementary and Templeton Secondary School where he had fond memories of competing in track and field relay races.

At the University of British Columbia he completed his Bachelor of Commerce in 1973 and Bachelor of Laws in 1974. He was called to the BC Bar and admitted as a member of the Law Society on June 26, 1975. Milan practiced law for 50 years.

Milan will forever be in our hearts and minds and remembered for his kind-heartedness, generosity, compassion, and humour. He was a naturally engaging raconteur, and, in his absence, there will be a quiet that was once filled with his amazing storytelling. Milan captivated us with tales ranging from East Vancouver in the 1950’s and 60’s to events of historical relevance and discussions of news headlines from around the globe. We will miss his charisma, perspectives and the way he literally date and time stamped every message he left on our answering machines down to the minute!

Milan is predeceased by his sister Katie, parents Marko and Josephine, step-daughter Amber, and brother Harreson.

A celebration of Milan’s life will be held at Garden Hill Funeral Home, 11765-224th Street in Maple Ridge on Friday June 12, 2026 at 1:00pm.
