Lucia Chinyere Onyejekwe Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Lucia Chinyere Onyejekwe
“Her children rise up and call her blessed.”
Proverbs 31:28
Lucia Chinyere Onyejekwe was a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished mother-in-law, proud grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was a beautiful reflection of faith, compassion, strength, and selfless service.
She was born in Ogbor, Ugiri Mbano, Imo State, Nigeria, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Pius Onyejekwe. From an early age, she possessed a caring heart and a gentle spirit that would define the way she lived her life.
Lucia answered the noble calling of becoming a midwife, dedicating her life to caring for mothers and welcoming countless mothers and babies into the world. To many families, she was more than a healthcare professional—she was a source of comfort, reassurance, and hope during some of life’s most precious moments. Her kindness, patience, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone privileged to know her.
She was the beloved wife of the late Cypriel Amamdinaneze Okeke, with whom she built a family founded on love, faith, and enduring values.
Above all, Lucia treasured her family. She was a devoted mother to Amaka Christine Adindu, the late Patricia Udorji, and Lilian Uchechi Ekujereonye, a loving mother-in-law, and a proud grandmother to six cherished grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her heart.
Lucia was a woman of deep Christian faith who trusted God throughout every season of her life. She lived with humility, grace, generosity, and quiet strength. She believed in serving others, offering a listening ear, extending a helping hand, and reminding those around her to trust in God. Her life was a testimony of love in action.
Although our hearts ache in her absence, we give thanks to God for the priceless gift of her life. The seeds of kindness she planted, the lives she touched, and the legacy of faith and compassion she leaves behind will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Today, we celebrate a life well lived, a woman deeply loved, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Lucia Chinyere Onyejekwe will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 31 at 11:00am at Garden Hill Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
