Joyce Nathe Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of Joyce Nathe announce her sudden passing into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on July 1, 2026, in Vancouver, BC. Joyce was born in Stornoway, Scotland on July 27, 1954.

She was predeceased by her parents James and Annie Florence and by her son, Aaron Lorne Nathe.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Lorne, and by her five daughters, Elizabeth (Samuel), Lydia, Rachel, Esther (Bryan), and Kezia. Also, her nine grandchildren, Geoff and Shawnee, Zachary, Ethan, Jesse, Seth, and Abigail, and Silas and Evie.

She is remembered and deeply appreciated by her family for her commitment to providing a safe and secure home where they could grow and learn and thrive.

Joyce loved the Lord, her Bible, and the serious study of scripture. She taught and mentored many young people, and she was always ready to listen to others. She was characterized by generous hospitality and the warmth she extended to all. She loved and honored God and others well.

Joyce’s passing was unexpected, and her family feels a deep void with her absence. They have appreciated every expression of love they have received and greatly value prayer as they grieve their loss. Although their hearts are heavy, their desire is that the Lord Jesus Christ would be honored. This would have been Joyce’s desire.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15

Details of the memorial service will be forthcoming shortly.
