Bob & family:
I am deeply saddened to learn of Marianne’s passing. Marianne was a second mother to me during my youth in Maple Ridge. Your family and I have a long history and it further saddens me how we have not kept in touch much over the years. We extend our deepest condelences to you and your family. In one word, Marianne was always “happy”. I will miss her dearly. Much Love, the Wowks.

To the Willis Family,
We are so sorry for your loss and know that your hearts are hurting. We will also miss her sense of humour and always happy face. She was a pleasure to have met and will be missed here at the lake. Jack always enjoyed her company while building their home and truly felt she and Bob were new friends. You must be proud to have had her for a wife, mother and Oma. Pass on her smiles.

I will miss Marianne so much.
We didn’t see much of each other the past years but we were so connected by our childhood memories.
Our parents were the best of friends most of their lives, only death was able to separate them.
Marianne was a loving “niece” to my parents especially to my mother in her final years. She was generous and kind with her time and affection. God blessed us all with her presence, generosity and humour. I feel privileged to have had some sweet visits with her these last months.
All of you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

Last time I saw Marianne she was standing on a chair at our 35 year high school reunion, reading some highlights from our 1967 annual. She was on the chair, laughing, so she could be at least as tall as Keith Rajala, a fellow classmate who was sharing the reading. Love that memory. So sad for all who knew her, even if it was from years ago. Bob and family, know we are all hoping you are able to concentrate on the good memories. Hugs.

Bob and Family…my thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow in the passing of Marianne. May she rest in peace now after her battle. I will always remember Marianne for her love and friendship in the few years that we worked together at the Grey Clinic…ironically we met through an acquaintance and we golfed at Maple Ridge where I almost beaned her with my shot from the 2nd hole to the gully. We laughed at that for a long time. Marianne also got me my job that I have today…I will always be grateful for that. Marianne was well loved by her family and many many friends. May she rest in peace now, free from the pain and disease. I hugged her and let her cry on my shoulder the day she found out from Dr. Lytle the terrible news. I didn’t want her to drive home herself. But being the tough girl that she was .. she headed home Bob to tell you. I will always remember that day. In fact, we were away in Magna Bay and in the middle of the night on the 8th, i awoke to thinking of Marianne, the day she died. I think she was saying goodbye to me.
May God keep you and your family close during this saddened time..Rest Marianne…Rest.

We have wonderful memories of Marianne and Bob from our early Logan Lake days. In retrospect, we were just kids then. Marianne was my first friend when we arrived in the small town of Logan Lake.We were welcomed into their home and spent many times together playing cards, camping, fishing, partying and raising kids. Marianne had great strength of character, a strong work ethic and complete devotion to her family. I know we shared many firsts…news of pregnancies, my first trout caught over 5 pounds, working together in the doctors office, birthday parties and so many other life moments. I can still hear Marianne laughing as I caught the BIG One on Bose Lake. We almost made it to see Elvis in Las Vegas until we realized two very pregnant women didn’t quite fit the picture we were planning for a girls get away. Marianne let Dave and me practice parenting on you Jeff until she caught Dave swinging you in circles by one leg. Both our families moved away to different towns but we managed to keep in touch at Christmas and of course on birthdays as Marianne and I share the same birth date. I am so sorry your life was shortened Marianne but please know you were one of my first adult friends and I will always treasure your friendship and the good memories we made. Our love to Bob and family.

As a St. Paul’s Hospital calssmate of Marianne’s I remember how cut and dperky she always looked in her uniform. Always cheerful and usually smiling. She appeared the same at our nursing reunion last June. It was lovely to visit with her and hear stories of you and your family. My sincerest sympathy and condolences to you all.
