Obituary of Anne De Bodt

Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
March 1934 to July 5th, 2013. At 79, and after a long and courageous battle, our dear mom is now at peace. Anne leaves behind a devoted and loving husband of 60 years, John; her children Barry (Norma), Elaine (Robert); grandchildren Peggy, James, Ryan and Caitlin (Mike). She is also survived by sisters Flora and Isabel and brothers Albert and Bobbie. Waiting for her in heaven are her mom and dad, and siblings Violet, Bill, Sammy, Alberta and Earl. Mom was born on a homestead in Chip Lake, Alberta, in 1934 and moved to Websters Corners in 1950. There, she met and married the love of her life, John. They enjoyed many fishing and camping trips together and will do so again some day. She devoted her life to caring for her family. The love for her family and friends was evident throughout her life. During her illness her gentle spirit shined through. It touched everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Words cannot express the heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care Mom received at Holyrood Manor. Dr. Milewski, the nursing staff and Mom’s care aids are exceptional and compassionate, and were there every step of the way. A celebration of her life is being planned for later this summer. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC.
