Obituary of Eugene Paul Harder

Please share a memory of Eugene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On September 27th at 1:47 am, Eugene breathed his last appointed breath on earth and passed into glory, surrounded by his loving family. He was married for 59 years to his dear wife, Sonia, and is survived by her and their daughters, Melanie (John Reid), Charlotte (Steve van Dop), and Cynthia (Barry Davison), 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Eugene loved the Lord with his whole heart and pastored for many years in Nanaimo, Mission, North Vancouver, and Vernon. Eugene also designed and built custom homes and churches. He will be remembered as a man full of love, laughter, and life, who built a legacy of faith and passion for the Lord, His Church and family. In his own words, from one of his books, he writes, “My chief mission in life is to glorify God, enjoy Him forever, and finish life well.” We are thankful to our mother for her selfless love and devotion to our father to the very end. The family is grateful for the loving care from Dr. Burns and the team of health care workers that came daily for the past 5 years. Psalm 116:15 – Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His saints. Memorial service at Maple Ridge Baptist Church, Friday, October 12th at 1:00 pm. Memorial Donations may be made to Woman Care Pregnancy Centre, womancarepc.ca.
