I am not sure but I have had a very strong feeling it is the same Bob Stokes that I knew and decided to google Bob Stokes who worked at Mills Basic on Clark Drive Vancouver, BC. For some strange feeling I kept feeling something had gone wrong with Bob as I had not heard from Bob for over a year now. This was not like him. I have know Bob for 25 years as a client through business. He used to work for Grand and Toy for many years and that is how I first met Bob. I used to order supplies from Bob when I was 34 years old from Reid Collins and Associates (a forestry consulting business)that emerged with H.A. Simons later on in years and then became Simons Reid Collins. I used to take inventory every week and Bob would come in and take the inventory orders. Always stayed a few minutes longer to talk and have a story to tell…something to make us all laugh. He was one of the kindedst men I knew besides my father who passed away many years ago. Bob was a great mentor, a great role model and I always looked up to him as I knew he was a very good man with a heart of gold. The last time I saw him was over a year ago when Bob was trying to see if he could get my daughter a job at his company. The only reason I googled Bob Stokes was because of this gnawing feeling inside of me that something had happened to Bob Stokes. The last time I saw Bob I was in a very serious car accident shortly after I saw him with head injuries amongst other injuries. If I have the right Bob I am heartbroken to hear of this tragic news. How many Bob’s can you find in Maple Ridge who fit the same description as above. A great family man, with a heart of gold which is very rare. Bob was always a great listener, with advice I extremely appreciated simply for the fact I knew by listening to his views on life he had values, beliefs and morals that were very rare to find. I always looked up to Bob and I am honoured to have know Bob but I truly would like confirmation that this is the same Bob that I have know over the years. This description above by others fits him to a tee. I am so saddened to hear of this. If you could please pass this on to his family for me I would much appreciate this. I lost my son two years ago and then became involved in a serious car accident one year later which was last year. My phone number is 604-708-3768 and my name is Lois. If his family could call my number to verify I would truly appreciate this. Thank you sincerely, Lois

Bob Stokes was my brother-in-law. What I admired so much about Bob was how he raised his children — 3 boys and 1 girl.
I respect each one of them so much! He taught them to love God, and everything else fell into place.
I know I will not see Bob again on this earth, but I look forward to seeing him again in Heaven!

I worked with Bob at Willson/Williams & Mackie from 1989-1993, and in fact sat next to Bob in the ‘sales room’. He was a true mentor to me in those early days of my career, for which I am so grateful. Bob was a wonderful family man, and I was so blessed to get to know him. He was quick with a laugh, and I rarely saw him in any other than a great mood. Accept my condolences, and I pray that you will all take solace in how many lives Bob touched, and enriched.

My thoughts and prayers to all Bob’s family. I am truly saddened by his passing and wish to offer my deepest condolences. As a co-worker of Bob’s from the Williams and Mackie days – my memories of Bob start from my first day in March of 1978 when Bob took me aside and invited me to coffee. We sat and talked and then, Bob generously and graciously went through his client list and gave me 20 or thirty leads to call on to help give me a start and get my feet wet! I’ve always remembered that act of kindness. We worked together until 1986 when we parted company – each on to different firms but still in the same industry. Bob was a friend and mentor. I will always remember him calling home from the office every day without exception to speak with family, for sharing his morals and beliefs by way of action not simply words, for his unwavering friendship, and of course…for his laughter – which all these years later I can still hear as clearly as if we were standing in the same room together today. I feel it was a privilege to have known Bob and for that I am grateful.
