I was very sad to hear that Diane Bailey had passed to the other side. My condolences to Rocky,
the rest of the family and the Katzie community.
I had the privilege of working with Diane for many years, both in the Band Office as well as in the School District. She was well-respected in both these areas, had a real heart for children and their families and worked in a self-less manner to support them. Di had a positive effect on many lives.
She showed people how to give rather than take. Everyone who met her was a better person for doing so.
Di had a real love for her family and this always came through in our many conversations.
Rest in peace Diane, you will live on in our memories. Jim McCulloch

So sorry to read of Diane’s passing. Only a few weeks ago, I told Rocky I planned to come to the house for a visit. I didn’t get there in time.
I will remember you, Diane. I always liked you as a person, even though you were a challenge as a patient!

Diane, my friend: When I visited with you a few days ago, I had no idea that it would be the last time I would see you alive. You were a lady of grace, compassion, courage and wisdom. You had such a positive impact on so many people and your contributions to Katzie First Nation and to the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows cannot be measured.
I am so glad to have known you. Your friendship enriched my life. Your passing will leave a huge hole in my life and the lives of your family and community. I am so sad that you have gone but so grateful that you are now free from suffering. And I am so glad to have been able to see you so recently. Goodbye, my friend. Sleep in peace. You will live on in the memories of all of us who loved you. Barbara

Both my husband, Mark, and I worked with Diane in the school system and knew her to be a lovely, caring lady. She had a special way with the children that she worked with. They respected her and loved her and in return she loved them back and showed them that they could earn respect. She did great work in the school district and will be missed.

Lady Di: Sending kind thoughts and strong prayers for those you have left behind. In my mind, in my heart, you were a TROOPER, you were a FIGHTER, and you were DEFINITELY a WARRIOR. This is one tremendous loss to Katzie. I have been reminiscing over the last two days with my children, on the GOOD that you did for our community. .You gave direction well, when you spoke, everybody listened. it is hard to put into so little words, the 17 years that we worked together, as co workers and in politics. I listen to the young ladies, that you were there for. helping them along the way, raising their children, the number of children that you encouraged to complete their education. God has blessed us, with yet, another beautiful angel. I shed a tear, but not for long, you are no longer suffering. i ask you to watch over guide and protect all of us. just as you did, when you were with us. Continue on with your journey, my dear friend, you will be missed by so, many. Love ya, take care. PS: when i feel that gentle soft wind hit our face, i will know it is you. .
