Obituary of Catherine Louise Tortoys

Please share a memory of Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
June 25, 1961 – August 4, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Louise Tortoys. Cathy was raised for several years in California. With her parents, she enjoyed countless camping trips in the desert and many hot and sunny days on the beaches. Cathy and her family returned to BC when Cathy was 10. It took Cathy some time to shed her “Americanisms”. Happy times in her youth and childhood days spent fishing with her dad, learning to play the organ with mom and times spent with horses. Cathy loved all animals and shared a special connection with them. Cathy was a long time employee at ICBC where she formed many lasting friendships. She was a member of Mission Elks #30. Cathy was a generous and caring person, who would not hesitate to help family or friends. She will be greatly missed. Cathy was predeceased by her father Ken, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her mother Vera, Aunt Rita, Uncle Ed (Deb) and by many cousins and friends. A Celebration of life will be held on August 25 at 1:00 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Home, 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to McKenney Creek Hospice c/o the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
