Obituary of Alfred Daniel Elder
Please share a memory of Alfred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our father, brother, uncle, and friend on August 25, 2012 from cancer. Born on September 24, 1952 in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan to Willis and Mary Elder. Fred leaves his daughters, Katie and Sarah, his brother Wade (Cindy) Elder and sisters Marilyn (Dave) Acton and Kim (John) Poulter. Fred’s sister Gail (Doug) Richardson lost her own battle to cancer in 2010. Fred was also predeceased by his father, Willis and his mother, Mary, Fred also leaves behind his nieces and nephews Kyle (Danielle), Cody (Krista), Kacy (Austin), Jamea (Brayden), Melanie, Brad and Maxwell, great-nephew Griffin and great-niece Cassidy, and companion Mary Ann Fairall.
Fred had friends from everywhere. He loved to travel as well as being involved in the community. He was involved in many organizations due to his never being able to say “No” to anybody. He was always there for you. You could always count on Fred for help. A great man will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touched!
A special thanks to McKenney Creek Hospice. At Fred’s request a private ceremony is being held in September. In lieu of flowers Fred’s family would like to ask that donations be made in Fred’s name to the Terry Fox Foundation, a charity that held great meaning to him. Devoted father, loving brother and Mountie.
