Dear Gracia, Corwin and Norman
Just moments ago I learned of your mother’s passing. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. And I am so sorry that I had not heard and so was not able to attend her celebration of life. Your mother played a huge role in my life and therefore was very dear to me. And to my parents who are both no longer with us. I pray that God has and does sustain you through this time. With sincere condolences. John Koning and family

To Gracia , Corwin and Norman. We are sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. She was a wonderful support to us when our family were new immigrants to Canada in 1973. She was very hospitable and a great lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Karl & Lina Gelauff.

So, so sorry for your loss. Alida was a truly kind, remarkable, thoughtful person who gave so much, that so few words can describe the inner beauty that she held. Though the miles separated us she always called to wish us a happy birthday or anniversary! I found is poem that seemed so fitting:
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much.
Good friends, good times, family, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me…..
God wanted me now,
He set me free.
