Obituary of Metro Harris

Metro (Mike) Lawrence Harris, 71, died February 22, 2012 peacefully with his family by his side in Maple Ridge, B.C. Mike had fought a long battle with cancer and is now in a better place. Mike’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of one’s existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Mike will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Loretta and his children, Mike (Debbie), Tammie (Don). He will also be in the hearts of his four grandchildren, Lacie, Jesse (Cindy), Dawnene (Tyler), Dana (Bryce) and by his sister Chris, her family and all other family members. There are so many wonderful things to remember about Mike’s life, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a friend to all. Family always came first and he was the rock for our family and also the person that continued to bring us all together. He was a very talented man, especially in the art of woodcraft. Whether it was building a house or crafting a miniature wooden truck, he could do it all. Throughout his life he was also always entertaining with tall tales and jokes to make others laugh. His distinctive laugh is something you can never forget, it just made you happy inside to hear it.
