I worked with Tommy for six months when I first started at the Surrey Tax Centre as a commissionaire.Everyday Tommy would have a smile on his face and a joke or two and would sing a little song during the day for me and the CRA staff. He would talk about his grand children and his family and also his work history in England and here in Vancoouver.I will miss his laughter and kindness to me and to everyone else.GOD Bless you Tommy, You left us with an impression of a man that had love and happiness for live and I thank you for the time we had together. I was so sorry to hear that Tom had passed away and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I first heard about Tom when I came to work last Thursday and saw his obituary, which had been posted at the staff entrance of the tax centre. It reminded me of the many times I had come in through that same entrance so early in the morning to see Tom’s kind face and twinkling blue eyes. He always had a big smile and a friendly greeting for me and I’ve missed it since he left. Many of us were lucky enough to share in his jokes and stories before he retired – he had the gift of brightening our days and making us smile. Thinking of him now, I’m smiling again and I’ll think of him often. Goodbye again Tom, you and your family are in my thoughts.

Tommy was a great start to the day at the Tax Centre. Walking in through the back door was never the same after he left. He always had a big smile and cheerful chatter.

Mr. Fisher was allways quick to put a smile on everyones face.
He could deliver a witty line like no other.
His love for people radiated and i will miss bumping into him in our travels here in town.
The old soccer team just got a lot better up in Heaven and i can only imagine how much fun they will have after the games ,just like the good ol days.
My deepest condolences to Mrs. Fisher, Ian, Bonnie and the kids.
Happy Trails Mr.Fisher,
Bruce Young and family.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Tom’s family and friends on his passing. Tom was the best – a lovely man with a ready smile, quick quip and eyes that sparkled with mischief. He brought a smile to everyone’s face and made us all feel a little lighter at heart. A very special person and unforgettable. May he rest in peace.

I was an employee at CRA when Tommy was posted here. He was the first person I saw in the morning welcoming me into the building. He made me smile, always asked how I was and always had a joke or tidbit of info to share. He was a great guy and will be dearly missed.

Tom was one of the most lovable men I have ever met. He was our best loved commissionaire at the Surrey Tax Centre. He knew most staff by name, and loved to tease all of us, not leaving anyone out. Everyone knew who Tommy was. We were sorry to see him retire. My aunt worked with at Woodlands for many years as well and always spoke highly and lovingly of her “Tommy”. She said the patients all loved him as well, which, knowing him, did not surprise me. We hope his family know that we all loved him too, and we already miss him.

I was saddened to her about the passing of Tommy and wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Each morning when I came into work at the Surrey Tax Center, it was always a pleasure to see him and greet him with a “top of the morning” to which her replied “and the rest of the day to you”.
He brought forth a ray of sunshine every time I saw him, a truly kind and wonderful person.
Rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Tommy’s passing. You have no idea what joy he brought to my life. Every every! time I came through the door, a great big smile, many big hugs, little ditties, much much laughter. He was a kind, joyful, remarkable man and I shall miss him greatly. Tommy will ALWAYS hold a very very special place in my heart. I loved him dearly. Yes, there are tears – but every time I think of him, I also smile – twas his twinkly eyes. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives. With great love and big hugs to the family, Cynthia “Toodles” Luchak
