I met Mike in 1988. We became very good friends but I moved away out of the country in 1990 or so. I really love the guy and it just so happens today after a long desired reunion I finally looked him up and found out about his passing. When I met him he was a salesman for a food processing machine company . The last time I seen him was at my wedding in 1990. He was a Gentle but powerful boy in a mans body. Sweet memories my Freind .. Dave hygaard

Your bigger than life itself !
I was hoping you would cheat death.
But Death took you to the life you knew was waiting for you.
Now I can say you can greet me another day.
Rest well my friend till the Creator calls your name . זֶרַע לְאָחִיךָ (Rise up) Michael

‘Big Mike’…thank-you for being like a big brother and protecting me and my little sister in Montreal, which made up for all pranks you pulled on all us girls….lol I so regret not coming out to see you a couple of months ago as we were planning. You were and will always be an inspiration to me in all your accomplishments. You worked so hard to make all your dreams come true and I feel grateful to have been a part of your life. R.I.P. cousin and see you on the other side when my time comes.

“champ” mike so many memories in the 14 plus years we drove maple ridge crazy , going back to the very first chin kick you gave me ! you gave me the privilage of being the first man to see you babies born just hours later , Zack and Shannon both are the greatest children I know and you were the greatest dad ! I promise to one day let your children know just how much you loved them , I know you did as I heard it daily , and as a father of 5 girls I understood every thing you said and tried to help you in every way I will look out for your kids and protect them if need be . Thats what uncles do even if we were not blood related I loved you as a friend and respected you as a man. I remember when you brought zack and shannon home we were having a drink at the local pub and just happened to see a toy machine filled with cute lovable stuffed animals I watched you spend so much money trying to win those stuffed creatures , then I decided to show you a easier way , you agreed so we grabbed the machine by its sides and tipped it over onto its belly all thou the staff was not to happy we walked out of there with over thirrty stuffed animals lol lol , we did that so often they had put a out of order sign on it remember buddy , “Mike” I will never meet another man like you in my life time” never , and that makes me as sad as your passing , our stories and memories all of them will be treasured , and from time to time i think i will stop in at timmy”s and laugh and share memories with those who loved you and respected you , I promise to keep to you the promises we had with each other.

Accomplished in so many ways, Mike was truly a great man and a very loyal friend. Beneath that tough exterior was one of the kindest individuals I’ve ever known. He helped me through many difficult times, including a painful breakup and the loss of my dogs.
My heart goes out to Mike’s family and children, whom he loved more than anything.
Rest in peace, my dear friend. You’ll be missed tremendously. Thanks for making me a better person in many ways. I love you, buddy. Until we meet again.
