Obituary of Brian William Beck
Sept 8, 1989 – June 27, 2019
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Brian Beck. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, and husband. Brian was born at New Westminster Hospital and spent his entire life growing up in Maple Ridge. He is survived by his loving wife Arly, precious daughter Emma, parents Bruce and Janet Beck (WSM), brother Jason (Krystal), nephew Christian, his Nonna Severina and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his mother Sandra Scodeller Beck. Brian had a big heart and always put other people before himself. He donated blood, sponsored less fortunate families, donated to the food bank, and never hesitated when a family or friend needed help. He had a love for life, and although a little directionally challenged (no I’m not going to stop telling that story), he loved to make himself the center of attention with the occasional photobomb. Spending time with family was the most important thing to him. His family was his world. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed going camping or hiking in the woods. Brian also played soccer, couldn’t stay away from the golf course, and had a slight obsession with the Toronto Blue Jays (sorry, we mean a passion for the Jays). He would always say “if they don’t find you handsome, they better find you handy” And he was definitely both. Always working in the garage, fixing cars, and building things. Brian will be missed by many, but the memories of him will never be forgotten
No funeral by request. A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held July 21st at Maple Ridge Golf Course, from 1 pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Cancer Society in Brian’s memory would be appreciated.
