Sorry to hear the passing of Sheldon. My Mom Maria Stasiuk babysat him when he was in Grade school and was friends with his Mom Sylvia. May he Rest In Peace and know that he had friends with memories of him.

Dear Sheldon
I often search for you over the years with today’s technology , let me share some stories;
You and your redheaded girlfriend at the time ( sorry forgive me it’s been so long I can’t remember names) were some of the first people I met living out there with no family , you had an 80’s Nova with a great sound system , I lived in my very first place of my own , your girlfriend at the time boarded her horse next to where I was living on Prairie road ( way down near the end ) in Port Coquitlam , you and I hit it off quite well we work on my car your car and others cars , I believe at the time you were apprentice in electrical and I was a baker , you and your girlfriend introduce me to a girl Susan Needham and the 4 of us hung out , , anyways I have some great memories of you and like I mentioned I often search for you over the internet . I came across this obit couple years ago and was shock to read it ,, if this is the Sheldon I have been searching for ,, my you crank those tunes ( Def Leppard) in that classic 80’s Nova RIP ,,. Sorry we never got a chance to reconnect !

So what defines a great and successful man at the end of his life? I would like to think it is the goodness in their heart, the love they left behind, the laughter that they shared with family and friends, and the memories we will carry so when we think of him we will smile and say.. HEY remember when?
Yes my uncle Sheldon was a great and successful man.

Dear Shel.
May you rest in peace.
We will miss u and never forget u.
I had such good times when u were around at my dads farm a few years back. I remember some of the funny things u said & often think of them with a giggle.
U had such an incredible witty sense of humour & I cherish this about u. U always knew how to put a positive spin on things. I feel grateful to have gotten to spend some time with u Shel. Like I said, u will never ever be forgotton & we have a special place in our hearts for u. Shel was also Daves neighbor for quite some time.

Having just lost my brother from a sudden heart failure, I know the pain and emptiness you are feeling. There are no words that can take away the pain. I only knew Sheldon for a short time (during his marriage to Christine). But he left such a lasting impression of a kind sole. My heart goes out to you Robyn and to all his family and friends.

My sweet little brother, Sheldon. When I was 16, I met this scrawny kid who wanted to tag along with his older brother and me whenever we came to visit. You had these scrawny friends and I felt so old and mature around all of you.
As the years went by, we became friends, and then you were my little bro. Even after Doug and I were no longer together, you were always a part of my life, and you always will be.
I owe my karaoke life, and maybe my theatre life, to you. If you hadn’t taken us to a karaoke bar one night, I might never have had the courage to get up and sing or act.
I cried a lot this past year, and prayed that you would be cured, and then, finally, prayed that your pain would end and you would be free.
I will always love you, and always be glad you were a part of my life.
So now, live well, wherever you are. Enjoy what is yet to come, and save a place for me. Because if you are there, it’s got to be a good place.
Love always,
Joey

To the Keating family I send my deep regrets that you have lost Sheldon at such a young age. Even though he has not been a part of my life for many years, he was at one time one of the most important people in my life. I have many fond memories with him that I will keep private, as I am sure you all do as well. Please accept my prayers and thoughts in your time of grief. I know he was not comfortable in his final time, and for that I am grateful that he is at rest now. I hope the family that is left grieving surrounds each other with love and gentleness as we all grieve differently. Love and hugs to you all. Sleep well Sheldon.

This has been a long journey for all of us. I am just thank-ful that Sheldon gets to start his new journey..in his new life without pain and sorrow. Sheldon has been in my life for 30 years and I will miss him dearly. I have only good memories of him, for he was once my husband, then my dearest friend, a good man with a big heart. We will all miss Sheldon, to have known him was to love him.

Sheldon,
you and I have been friends for many years and even though we didn’t see each other a lot in the past few years, I always thought that we would get together again soon.
I never thought it would be because one of us was sick.
We used to think that we were invincible. I don’t know how we survived all of the crazy stunts we pulled.
Spending time with you in your final days was so important to me, I thank god that i was able to.
And now you aren’t here and I feel kind of empty.
I will miss you for all of my life.
I love you like a brother.
see you again one day.
Steve.

Sweet dreams Sheldon…
May you rest peacefully and have no memory of the struggle you have been freed from. May you always feel the warmth of the sun on your face and a gentle breeze beneath your wings; it’s your time to soar with the angels.
Gone too soon!
