Sy passed away at Ridge Meadows Hospital January 11, 2011 at the age of 91. Born in 1920 at Maunders in Northern Alberta, Sy is predeceased by mother Ethel, sisters Ellen & Irene. He is survived by wife Ingrid; children Brian (Noreen), Ron (Val), Patricia (Brian); 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sy was a long time resident of Maple Ridge and spent more than 50 years as bartender at the Maple Ridge Hotel. The family would like to thank the staff at Baillie House and Ridge Meadows Hospital for the wonderful care and good times he had there. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan 14th, 2011 at 2pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel 11765 – 224th St., Maple Ridge, BC. In lieu of flowers donations to Baillie House c/o Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation Box 5000, 11666 Laity St. Maple Ridge, BC V2X 7G5.
