Dear Clemence and family,
I always enjoyed being with Walter especially in the garden overlooking the river. A keen intellect and wit accompanied by a generous smile. When we first met, he was riding his bike most days and was a recreational and fitness inspiration to me. I am planning to ride my bike to the service today in celebration of one of Walter’s many interests.
I will miss him and am thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

Wouter was the oldest, dearest friend in North America of my late husband, Charles (“Ces”) Stegeman (1924-2013), a painter from The Netherlands. They had legendary feasts together starting in the early 1950s. Wouter was a wonderful person to be with and a true friend, exuding joy … in perfect harmony with Ces’s life philosophy.
With heartfelt condolences for Clemence and the entire Van Vloten family,
from France,
Marie-Therese Zenner

Walter was one of my fondest childhood heroes. In the early sixties I lived in Vancouver with my parents Charles and Francoise Stegeman. Walter was over frequently and I always remember sitting on his lap and his smile and joy. I am so very sad for his passing and send your all heartfelt condolences for your loss. All that was fifty plus years ago but I still see is smile!

Dear Van Vloten family,
Our heartfelt condolences in the passing of your father Walter. Arnold had the privilege of meeting your dad a couple of times at conventions/industry events. One of Arnold’s memories is that Walter had a knowledge of good/excellent wines and a good time was had.
We hope you have good memories as well and hope that they will help you to get through this time.
All the best and our thoughts are with you all.
Arnold & Ann Heuver
P.S. Casey a big hug from us.
