Obituary of Ernest Alfred Hannah

Ernie was born on April 30, 1926 in Smiths Falls, ON and died peacefully on July 22, 2010 at Ridge Meadows Hospital, in Maple Ridge, B.C. He is predeceased by his parents Mable (Botham) Hannah and Alfred Hannah and by his sisters Edith, Lorraine and Fern and wives Rita Levasseur and Freda Lamb. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Kathleen (Bernard) Webster and Deborah (David) Steele, grandchildren Ted, Tammy, Christopher and Cameron, great-grandchildren Breanna and Thomas, as well as his friends. Ernie has been a resident of Maple Ridge since 1983. He had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, The Elks and a member of the Salvation Army since 1975. He worked for Canadian Pacific for more than 45 years, retiring in 1986 from his job as a Carman. A Memorial Service for Ernie will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 – 224th Street, in Maple Ridge. Thanks to the Physicians and Nurses at Ridge Meadows Hospital who cared for Ernie in his last hours. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, The Parkinson’s Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
