Obituary of Gerald Raymond Fisher

Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“Jerry” passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Through his 89 years of life, Jerry always demonstrated a kind and gentle spirit and quiet sense of humour that stayed with him until the end. Born in Hana Alberta, he joined the RCAF during WWII as an airframe technician. After the war he re-enlisted, and his career in the Armed Forces took him to many locations across Canada and in Germany. In 1967 he moved to Germany with his two children, Blair and Wendy, and soon after married his long time partner Rosemary. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1971 the family moved to Maple Ridge. Golf was his passion, and until recent years, Jerry was to be found most weekdays at Mission Golf Club with his wife Rosemary and a close group of friends. Retirement also gave Jerry and Rosemary the opportunity to travel, and they took annual trips in their RV to sunny golf destinations, often with friends from the Mission Golf Club. Jerry spent his last months at Holyrood Manor, and the family would like to express sincere appreciation for the warm and caring help that the Holyrood staff provided. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 29th at 9:30 am at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge, British Columbia, V2X 6A5, PH: 604-463-8161. www.gardenhill.ca Flowers may be sent to the Chapel or a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in his name.
