Obituary of Barrie Malcolm Blake

Barrie Blake passed away at Royal Columbian Hospital on March 21, 2010; Sunday, finally a day of rest. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife Jackie; daughter, Laura and Ron Geissler; stepsons, David and Jeaneva Bodtcher and Doug and Sheri Bodtcher; grandchildren, Ryan and Katelynn, Cassidy and Hillary; youngest grandson, Palmer; as well as Steven and Carol LePointe and sons Lucas and Sebastian. Barrie was a unique and generous man. After retiring from being a Heavy Equipment Operator, he focused on his hobbies; activities such as music, playing guitar, photography. With his musical talents, he played in many bands i.e. Midnight Eagles. Another one of his hobbies was making the world’s most unique cribbage pegs. Barrie loved to tell and play jokes. He was a strong believer that something worth doing, was worth doing with your very best effort. Memorial Service Barrie’s Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, March 27 at 2:00pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel – 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be greatly appreciated. Expression of sympathy for Barrie’s family can be made online at www.gardenhill.ca
