Obituary of Joseph Edward Stack

Joseph Edward Stack, aged 76, passed away after losing his battle with colon cancer on Thursday January 11, 2018, in Maple Ridge, at McKenney Creek Hospice, surrounded by ex-wife Janet, step-son Jim, daughter Debra and her family. Joe was born April 7, 1941 in Petty Harbour, Newfoundland to Joseph and Bridget Stack. After leaving at age 25, he spent a short time in Alberta before settling in Vancouver, B.C. He worked many years as a carpenter/ lather before being injured on the job. Joe and his first wife Sherry had four daughters, Cheryl, Marie, Leighan, and Theresa. In 1977, Joe married his second wife Janet, who had two sons, John and Jim. Together they had a daughter Debra and son Joseph. He is predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Bridget, siblings John, Jimmy, Cyril and children Theresa and Joey. He is survived by siblings Margaret, Lucy, Phillip, Leonard, Aileen, Anne and their families, children Cheryl, Marie, Leighan, and Debra, step-sons John and Jimmy and many loving grandchildren. Joe was an easy-going guy, funny and a great person to be around. He will be sadly missed by many! Funeral Mass to be held January 24th, 2018 at 1:00pm at St. Luke’s Catholic church in Maple Ridge, B.C. With interment to follow at 2:00pm.
