Obituary of Siegrid Martha Janzen

Please share a memory of Siegrid to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Siegrid Martha Janzen on January 1, 2018 at Holyrood Manor, Maple Ridge, BC after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born August 22, 1934 in Greven, Germany to Ida and Paul Glasner. She followed her fiancé Erhard Janzen to Regina, SK where they married in 1955. They then moved to Prince George BC where they raised their children. From there they moved to Penticton, where they owned and operated a motel. In 1989 they retired to Kelowna where they lived until dad’s passing. Mom will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sandra Janzen; grandchildren Josh (Twyla) Ramsay, Laura (Dustin) Gehring, Katherine (Daniel) Pearce, Erica Lapadat-Janzen, Alex Lapadat-Janzen; great grandchildren Caleb, Elliot, Gabriel; sister Christel Falke and brother Dieter Glasner and other extended family in Germany. She has been reunited with her husband Erhard of nearly 60 years; son Harold; grand daughter Amie Ramsay; brother Gunter and her parents. Mom was creative with a flair for fashion. She was proud of the fact that she’d never worn a pair of jeans and had beautiful skin because she’d never worn make up. Mom and Dad spent many winters travelling to Mexico and Hawaii in their motor home. A special thank you to the nurses and care aids at both Holyrood Manor and Cottonwood’s Care Centre. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Heaven is a place nearby, so there’s no need to say good bye.
