Obituary of Charlotte Elizabeth McLennan

Please share a memory of Charlotte to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
August 24, 1926 – April 9, 2019 Mom passed away on April 9 at home where she wanted to be. Charlotte was born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan on August 24, 1926, where she spent her youth. In 1950 Mom moved to Maple Ridge to join her aunt – our “Auntie”. And here is where she raised her family and worked full time. Mom loved to garden, and was a great cook. She loved to bake, and was an avid canner. She volunteered in her church being a leader in Pioneer Girls and many knew her as “Chatte”. Mom managed to do all this while raising three children on her own, with the help of “Auntie” and her mother and father. Charlotte is predeceased by her parents Eliza and Norman Irving, her son John, and Eveline “Auntie” Middlebrook. Also brother-in-law Ken McLennan and sister-in-law Joan McLennan and her niece Heather McLennan. She is survived by her daughters Norma and Sharon and her son-in-law Dennis. Two granddaughters and two grandsons , Laurel and Tyler and Amber and Kevin. Four great grandchildren Austin, Mackenzie, Rylan and Keegan. Her nephew Rick McLennan and family – Mary, Thomas, William and Robert. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her the greatest Joy in her life. We would like to thank Dr.Tsui, Marlene and Robin at the cardiac clinic and Dr. Patidar for their care and compassion for Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation in Mom’s memory would be greatly appreciated. There will be a Celebration of Life at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel on April 25th at 1:00 PM. A tea will follow at the home of Dennis and Sharon Zutz.
