I’m saddened to learn of your loss Arti and family. I had the privilege of having your Dad as my grade 7 teacher at Grief Point Elementary School in Powell River in1975-76. Mr. Sharma was always firm but fair with me. Through the years of my life a lot of what your Dad taught me about the importance of education, respect for others, and their property, and the focus of concentration on self improvement has helped me make good choices. He sometimes came into my thoughts of how to conduct myself, and handle some of life’s more challenging situations. A great man, a great educator. A good journey Mr. Sharma, thank you for being my teacher, and helping me understand so may important things about life.

Our family are saddened at the passing of a wonderful, kind and gentle man. We enjoyed our interactions with Raj at George Pringle. He was so encouraging and positive with Shannon during her years at GPS. He nicknamed her “Runs Like a Deer” and we always smiled about that. Shannon won the Raj and Manorma Sharma bursary in her grade 12 year and was truly honoured to have been recognized by a teacher she thought so highly of.
Our thoughts are with you during this time Manorma. Peace to you…..

Dear Sharma Family.
It is with saddness that I learned of Raj’s passing from the recent Kelowna Capital News.
I too was a school counsellor in Kelowna and did my Masters with Raj. My thoughts of Raj as a counsellor are clearly focused on his passion for youth and his determination to support them in any way possible. Raj was a true professional!
Thank you for sharing that beautiful video summarizing Raj’s life, it was magnificant.
To the family my heartfelt sympathy.

Raj and Manorma were Mom and Dad’s (Alice and John Borsa) next door neighbours. When Dad died, in 1988, Raj performed the eulogy for us. We felt forever in his debt over that, and he undertook his task with the utmost diligence and sincerity. We have now moved to Peachland, from Prince George, and when we read the Capital News obit we were shocked and saddened. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Manorma and her girls and grandchildren and sons-in-law over the loss of Raj on the Earth. I am sure you feel the loss greatly, because he was a wonderful person. Peace to you.

Our hearfelt sympathy to the family. There are no goodbyes wherever you are,you awill always be in our hearts Rajendra.
Before the sublime mystery of life and spirit, the mystery of infinite space and endless time, we stand in reverent awe.
This much we know: we are at least one phase of the immortality of life.
The mighty stream of life flows on, and, in this mighty stream, we too flow on…not lost…but each eternally significant.
For this I feel: The spirit never betrays the person who trusts it. Physical life may be defeated but life goes on; character survives, goodness lives and love is immortal.

Our sincere condolences to Kaki,Arti,Abha and the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It it the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.
