Obituary of Marvyn James Dixon

Marvyn James Dixon, 81 years young of Maple Ridge BC left us quietly on April 24, 2017 in Ridge Meadows Hospital. He was the second son of Henry and Christina Dixon born March 27, 1936 in New Westminster, B.C. Marvyn was a loving son, brother, father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and a good friend to many. He was a hardworking man having worked for Fraser Mills for 40 years until his retirement in June of 1996. Marvyn enjoyed refurbishing his antique cars, particularly the Model A, in an effort to preserve history. He enjoyed the outdoor life especially on his farm in Maple Ridge. He is survived by his loving family: Wife of 42 years Kathleen; Children: Harold (Dianna) of Surrey, Timothy (Ursula) of Pitt Meadows and Michael (Jessie) of Maple Ridge; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren with another on the way; and Siblings: Harold Dixon of California, Vera Scarfof Prince George, Sharon Munz of Langley, Shannon Caron of Victoria. He also leaves behind loving nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends. Marvyn is preceded in death by his younger brother Lorne Dixon in 2015. The family wishes to give special thanks to the kind and caring staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at Garden Hill Cremation and Funeral Services, 11765 224th St., Maple Ridge, B.C. on May 13, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Diabetes Canada (formerly the Canadian Diabetes Association) at www.diabetes.ca
