Obituary of Marlynn Ann Ashton

Please share a memory of Marlynn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marlynn Ashton, wife, mother, grand mother, great grand mother, and dear friend to all she met. Marlynn was born in Port Rush Northern Ireland, her family travelled by steamship to Halifax Nova Scotia. Her family then travelled to New Westminister, for their first stop in BC. Marlynn’s family settled in Burnaby BC where she spent her youth. Marlynn then travelled to Texada Island with her family, where they took up residence for a number of years. This is where Marlynn met and married Skip Waldorf, this marriage produced two beautiful and loving daughters, Mary-Ann Kulchyski, and Tammy Bikadi. During the next phase of Marlynns life she moved back to Burnaby where she met Bob Ashton. This marriage produced a son, Rob Ashton. Then came Marlynns life as a Grandma, she loved being surrounded by her little ones, or as she liked to call them her “bubbins”. The love she held for her Grand Children was absolute and true to her nature. Then the Grand Kids started to have babies, Marlynn was then fortunate to be surrounded by another wave of “bubbins”. Her Great Grand Children brought her a new wave of love and filled her heart fuller then it ever was. Marlynn was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, but most especially her little ones! Two more passions that filled moms life was bingo, which she played passionatley with family and friends. And secondly she loved a good protest, or a fight. Whether it was in the streets of Vancouver or the desert of Boron Nevada. She was a born protestor. Marlynn Ashton passed peacefully in her sleep at 9:50pm on April 20th 2017. She was watched over by her loving husband and best friend Bob Ashton. May you watch over us all! Their will be a celebration of life on June 3rd 2017 details to follow. In lieu of flowers please feel free to do something nice for a stranger as Marlynn would have done the same.
