Obituary of Alvin Giesbrecht

January 8th, 1939 - September 25th, 2019

 

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Alvin Giesbrecht announce his passing on September 25th, 2019 at the age of 80, a long-time resident of Maple Ridge. Predeceased by son Gregory. Alvin will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 60 years, Brenda, son Doug and daughter-in-law Yuden. His adoring grandchildren Kara, Kasia (Steven), Yeshey, Tobden (Sydney) and great-grandchildren Logan, Theo and Ruby. Alvin will also be missed by his brothers, sisters and families and a great many dear friends.

Thank you to the ALS Society, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, Fraser Health, Dr. W. Warmenhoven and the staff at McKenney Creek Hospice for his care these past weeks.

Alvin's sense of humour, strength and dignity throughout his illness is to be admired. We are thankful his suffering is over and will miss him every day.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 8th, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Burnett Fellowship Church, 20639 123 Avenue, Maple Ridge, BC.
