We wanted to pass along our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. We remember Steve's laugh and his attention to the smallest details, probably goes along with being a goldsmith. When our son was younger, along with Sean, Dave and Steve did Scouts together and managed to get the weekly Scout meetings together pretty well. The time he gave was appreciated and very well remembered. We will think of him often.

My best memory of Stephen was of Alice, Victoria, myself and him floating counterclockwise in their pool on a warm summer day. Such a great guy and my heart goes out to him wonderful family.

My memory of your Dad was when he brought in a contraption he created to address the knots in his back and (jokingly) told me he was going to put me out of business! Our sincerest condolences Amanda and family, our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

We have a ton of great memories with Steve down at Lanka Jewels. Steve is the definition of Master Goldsmith. Steve was not only mentored by a Master Goldsmith, but did all the schooling, and then himself taught for many years. We always knew that when asking Steve a question about a job, the timing had to be just right. Sometimes we would interrupt in the middle of a difficult job, and boy would we hear about it. After Steve retired, we know he missed us, because he always found excuses to come help us out. Even with the designing of the new store, we asked Steve for his advice. Not only did he give the advice, but he designed the whole room to the MM. To sum it up, Steve never did anything half-hazard; he took pride in everything.
My Dad and Steve had a very unique relationship. Being similar age, and experience in the business, they had a mutual respect. It always put a smile on my face seeing them trying to figure out the problem at hand. Between them they have close to 100 years experience, but they still would take the time to analyze something like it's their first time seeing this type of problem.
To sum it up, Steve taught us all alot! Our sincerest condolences go out to Alice, Amanda, Sean and the rest of the family. Steve will be dearly missed.

We have wonderful memories of fun times with Steve over the years! We’ll always treasure our last phone visit with him less than 2 months ago. He was thankful for the great life he was given - his kids, grandkids and extended Scott family - and all the adventures he had with you all. We send comforting hugs to Alice, Sean and Amanda. ♥️ Rick & Gabe

Steve brought so much to life and so he's left much behind that will live on. Truly a wonderful family man - so proud of them all, and a brilliant craftsman who brought his love of detail to his beautiful jewllery designs, his renovations, outdoor adventures, even cooking! A perfectionist! Which is, of course, why everything he did was always just so!
I know you will be so missed Steve, but you can rest easy knowing that your family will be ok with time.... because they're standing together on the solid foundation of the love you gave them. xoxo
