I was going through old photos tonight at home at my parents and found this. Great times. I’ll never forget Gareth’s open-heartedness. The way he would make you feel like you belonged. And his wicked sense of humour hahaha. Till we meet again.

I am so glad we were able to spend time with Gareth this summer. It was merely weeks before I became a father for the first time and seeing the way he loved and played with his children has helped shape the way I strive to be a father. He inspired me. But well before that he was a good and dear friend who we went surfing together, went on brewery tours together, played catch with all manner of things and shared good food and tequila. He was always keen to talk and laugh and I always felt like he had all the time in the world for me. All of us who knew him, especially Nat, Eliana, Kylan and Asher, are surely richer and better people for having him in our lives while we did. Rest well brother, we’ll see you again soon.

I met Gareth at Camp Qwanoes. He is such a fun and energetic person, and fun people tend not to also be very interested in the intellectual, but I remember Gareth being unique in that he and I had awesome intellectual dialogue. I felt like he always understood my thoughts and then had something interesting to contribute afterwards - and then we would go terrorize a group of campers during the night-game. Haha he was a riot.
Oh, and he is a WORK HORSE! When we worked in dish-pit together, he was my example of what it meant to work hard. He had almost unlimited energy - something I definitely lacked. And when I was down and defeated, his spirits were still so high, and that undying spark in the spring of his step was something I and others could easily feed off of.
I use the present tense to describe Gareth because though Gareth sleeps in body, I believe he is awake and alive in spirit. I am confident I will see and spend an eternity with my friend Gareth, where we will have so much to catch up on, and have more fun talking and goofing off. God bless you Gareth. And God bless you, Reardon family. No one will miss him more than you, and he is totally worth missing. In the love of Christ, God bless you.

Such a beautiful man inside and out. You were a blessing to all you came in contact with Gareth. Thank you for the best friend you were to our son Kris. We loved catching up with you all when you were here in Sth Australia, your cheeky smile, your sense of humour and your abundant energy. We will forever hold you in our hearts till we meet again.

I can still hear his laugh and see his smile. One of the kindest hearts in high school.
