Obituary of Evelyn Emily Krenz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Emily Krenz on August 28th, at the Ridge Meadows Hospital, in Maple Ridge. She was 74 years old. Evelyn was the youngest of five children born to the late Arnold Frederick These and Alma Freida These on June 23rd, 1946 in Viking, Alberta. Evelyn married Willi Krenz on July 6th, 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta and then made Vancouver, British Columbia their home that same year. Residing also in Richmond for many years and then in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. She is survived by her loving husband, 3 adorable children and their spouses, 4 amazing grandchildren plus Shari Lee, her Sister Elfreda, Brother Fredrick (Fred) along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Evelyn attended Elementary, Primary and High Schools in Viking, Alberta. She then went on to attend NAIT University in Edmonton, where she obtained her Chemists degree. She was also a culinary artist and worked in food services for many years prior to retiring. She continued with her culinary wonders at home for her loving family. In 2004, Evelyn became a part of the Citizens Assembly of 160 randomly selected BC residents, mandated to examine the current provincial election system and suggested alternatives. Their final report and recommendation was submitted to the public and the final decision was put to a referendum. Evelyn loved camping, travelling, fishing, gardening and a winning game of canasta. We sincerely thank the staff of the Ridge Meadows Hospital and Royal Columbia Hospital for all of their understanding, assistance and compassion. Due to current regulations, a small service will be held on September 14th, for immediate family only, at the Garden Hill Funeral home located at 11765 - 224th Street, Maple Ridge officiated by Pastor Roland Ziprick of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Maple Ridge Cemetery at 21404 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC. In Lieu of Flowers, a kind donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association is greatly appreciated.
