To the Family of Ken Jacobsen We are saddened to learn of the death of our friend Ken Jacobsen. We met him through the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society when he joined the Board of Directors. Both Julie and I served on the Board for many years. Ken was a thoughtful and great contributor to the Board. We also got to know Ken and Brenda as friends and found them to be fun travelling companions. We cruised the Panama Canal together. Ken also supplied us as well as many other people with refurbished appliances at reasonable prices. Although we seldom saw Ken over the last number of years as Brenda’s memory failed, we often thought of him and wondered how he and Brenda were doing. We will miss him. He was a true gentleman. Ken was a friend of mine. I met him as I worked at the recycling depot at the Cottonwood Landfill. Ken was searching for good parts on discarded appliances and we both lamented the amount of good stuff that got thrown out. From that nugget both of our commitments to recycling grew. Ken volunteered on the board of Ridge Meadows Recycling Society for many, many years and was part of the reason this organization is so strong. I was deeply saddened to hear of Ken's passing and I send my deepest condolences to his family. RIP
