Murray was born on April 18th, 1934 in Welwyn, Sask. He served with the Royal Canadian Airforce in the 1950s. He married Katharine Rowe on April 5th, 1957. Murray managed the Fifth Avenue Garage in Haney, BC. He assisted with establishing the Haney Judo Club in the 1960s – 1970s. A mechanic for many years, he changed his occupation, completing his final 8 years of employment with BC Corrections. Murray enjoyed talking with people from all over the world with his ham radio. He also loved animals and pets. A quiet man with a generous heart, he died peacefully in his sleep.
Survived by his wife Katharine, son Jim and daughters Dianne and Jean and their families, including seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and sister Muriel and sister in law Willa.
A celebration of Life will be at Burnett Fellowship Church in Maple Ridge, BC on January 7th at 11:00am.
