George was a true gentleman, a good husband to his loving wife Joanne, and caring father to his family. He was respected for being an honest and good man for all that knew him, both in business and personal relationships. George was always good to me, and my family. Remember lots of good family events with the Dunlops & Petersons. Glad I visited him a few times in the last couple years and got in a few games of cribbage. If there is a special place for the very best of the best, that’s where Uncle George is right now with Aunt Joanne at his side.

It was a blessing having George in our lives. Always concerned about everyone’s wellbeing, and never an unkind word about anyone. His penchant for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues always led to lively discussions and sometimes unique solutions, but he always got the problem resolved. Through conversations with George, we realized he used this gift to help others throughout his life. Whether it was traveling to some remote jobsite to resolve a sticky situation, or taking the lead at his condominium strata to solve a tough energy problem, George always got the job done.
We loved having George as part of our family. He touched our lives in so many positive ways, and his memory will always be with us. I can only imagine what very important issue you have been called on to troubleshoot now. You will be missed.

Uncle George was undoubtedly my favourite uncle. I first met him as a little girl when he was courting Aunt Joan in Prince Albert. I even got to be a flower girl at their wedding.
He was always fun, and so positive about everything. Although we lived at opposite ends of the country from each other I remember good times when visiting Vancouver & Nainamo. Also we have fond memories of when he & Aunt Joan visited Waskesiu and later wintered in Arizona.
He was a great bowler, competitor, and wonderful friend to all the Dykers always.
We loved him and will miss him but have wonderful memories that we cherish.

Doug, Kathy, Bruce and Diane just to let you know that we are thinking about you and your families on this sad occasion. My memories of your Dad were nothing but positive to say the least. He was an intelligent and interesting individual. I remember him as a positive, generous and considerate person with a smile on his face. Your Dad loved your mother like crazy and now they are hopefully together. The world was a better place with your father in it and we will all miss him. My heart and thoughts go out to you all.

What I will most remember George for is his kindness and willingness to help everybody in any way that he could. He was incredibly selfless, and cared deeply about everyone else’s well-being! I loved spending time with him, and cherish every minute I was lucky enough to have him in my life. He and my Mom became close when each of them lost their beloved spouses, and he enriched my mom’s life amazingly! I can never thank him enough for that… His passing is deeply felt by my Mom Kory (who also called his sister Shirley her closest friend) and our entire family. Our thoughts are with you all!
