Obituary of Vera Glennora Woodthorpe

March 2, 1929 – June 24, 2021

Vera passed away peacefully on June 24^th, 2021 at Holyrood Manor. Predeceased by her husband Joe in 1998 and granddaughter Amanda in 2010. Survived by daughter Darcy (Wilf), sons Dale (Barb), Dean (Cynde), 6 grandchildren Chris, Trisha, Jennifer, Cassie, Craig, and Lauren and 8 great- grandchildren. Born in Hay Lakes, Alberta and came to Vancouver at the age of 4. Married July 2^nd, 1948 to Joe and celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Vera and Joe were members of a group that founded BC Minor baseball in Richmond of which she was secretary for 22 years. Vera loved sewing, knitting and most of all playing golf with her friends at Meadow Gardens and Mission Golf Clubs. She was an active member in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church until her admission to Holyrood in 2013. She was much loved by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Holyrood Manor for their loving care and support over the years. A private gathering will be held in the future.
