Obituary of Malcolm Budd Rafuse

Dad was born in North Battleford Saskatchwan. He joined the RCAF in  1942 to 1945 and was an airplane mechanic stationed in New Brunswick.  During this time he married our beloved Mom ,Edith Giffen from North Vancouver in 1943. They moved to Haney in 1947. Dad excelled in different trades like body and fender man ,electrician and millwright. He was member of the Maple Ridge Volunteer Fire Dept for 25 years. He retired from Whonnock Lumber in 1980 to move to the cabin they built at Deka Lake and they built another bigger home right on that lake where they lived for 25 years. He was instrumental in starting the Deka Lake Volunteer Fire Dept and enjoyed all the outdoor activities he loved..fishing,hunting,chopping wood and kept very active . Mom and Dad moved back to Maple Ridge in 2005.

Dad was predeceased by Mom in 2018.

 

Dad is survived by his children Elaine,Raymond(Loraine)Deb(Pete) Brenda and grandchilden Jennifer,Roger and granddaughter in law Mel. Great-grandchildren Sawyer,Scout and Pharris along with his special 'Buddy' Dan .

Dad was such a kind and loving man and will be missed by many.
