Please share a memory of Sheila to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sheila Mary Klassen (Wald) – June 1, 1937 – Nov 22, 2016. Born and raised in Port Coquitlam BC, the oldest of four children. Sheila started working at a bank at a young age. Her face lit up when she talked about buying her parents their first refrigerator along with other appliances and household necessities. On pay day, she was thrilled to purchase her brothers and sister new clothes and other things. She continued her very generous giving throughout her life. She was married in 1963, moved to Maple Ridge in 1977 and retired from the Shaughnessy Scotiabank in 2001. She adored her husband George, her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Jesus and family was everything. Known to show family pictures to complete strangers. Also known for her amazing laugh, beautiful blue eyes, abounding love, heart of gold and long good byes. Her claim to fame: May Queen of Port Coquitlam 1948. In the end, she was excited to go home to heaven and see beloved family and friends who have gone before her. Sheila was such a bright light, a blessing to know, an exquisite soul…always and forever our May Queen! A special thanks for the excellent care to the nurses on 3 North at Ridge Meadows Hospital and to Dr. Bartel and Dr Little. In lieu of flowers a donation to Project Wellness is appreciated – . George and Sheila founded Project Wellness and have drilled over 30 wells in Malawi Africa. A memorial well will be drilled in her name and she’d be so honoured. Celebration of Life will be held at Maple Ridge Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec 3 at 1:00pm.
