Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

SHARON ANN MUNRO, 71, peacefully passed away at home in Maple Ridge, B.C on Sunday, September 26, 2021. She was born on April 4, 1950, in Winnipeg, M.B.

Sharon was predeceased by her loving mother, Winnifred Pauwels. She is survived by her two daughters, June Murfitt (Dean) and Barbara Munro. She had 7 grandchildren, Carin, Catherine, Sara, Graeme, Claire, Connor and Madalyn (aka Cheeky), all of whom she loved very much.

Sharon grew up in Elphinstone, M.B. as a young child and eventually moved to Winnipeg where she graduated from St. James Collegiate. After graduating she worked at a few different jobs and then settled into a position with the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Recreation branch. She made many lifelong friends in her years there and after a full career of 29 years, she retired in 2016.

Sharon enjoyed doing many things in life including being part of a bowling league in her young adult years, she very much enjoyed bingo and in her later years worked at a couple of her local community bingo halls and made many dear friends in her years there. Before retiring she found a love for hockey and enjoyed many Manitoba Moose games and had a deep passion for the Winnipeg Jets upon their return. In her spare time, two of her favorite past times were reading and playing puzzles on her iPad. In the last few years, she had the opportunity to enjoy family vacations to Hawaii, being able to do that meant the world to her.

Sharon touched many people with her strength, her humor and her kindness. She will be lovingly remembered and thoroughly missed by her many friends, the ‘Over the Hill’ gang, her extended family and by her daughters and their families.

Forever in our hearts, until we meet again enjoy the view on the other side of the crik.

The family would like thank Dr. Nageswera Kolla and the palliative care team in Maple Ridge for all their help and support, it was extremely appreciated. They would also request those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to your local Cancer Society in Sharon’s name.
