Stella passed away on October 5th 2016 at Maple Ridge Seniors Village at the age of 89 years.
On April 20th 1946 she married her late husband Roy Howe, who was stationed in London. Stella immigrated to Canada as a War Bride in 1946. Pre-deceased Stella was her father Harold A Hillard, her mother Dorothy Minnie (Ashley), her brother Ken & wife Eva and John, her sister Ivy Ruth & husband Dennis Silver. Stella is survived by her brother Michael Hillard, her nieces and nephew (Carol, Nigel & Elaine) who all live in England. Stella will be missed by her loving children Chris (Verna), Diana, Betty-Ann and Mary. Also missed by her grandchildren Kevin (Paula), Calvin (Louise), Christina (Doug), Pamela (James), Ryan (Julie), Jordan and David; her great-grandchildren Justin, Charlotte, Joel, Audrey, James & Penny, Hannah & Kaylee.
The family would like to thank the staff at MRSV for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at Garden Hill Funeral Services, 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge on Friday, October 14th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
Stella, a Great Lady, will be missed!
